Report: National Progress in Albania
The Global Alliance funded research in Albania to create inclusive and participatory processes for the implementation, monitoring and reviewing of sustainable development goals specifically related to gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual violence.
The Global Alliance for Reporting Progress on Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies funded research in Albania bringing together entities from the local government, the prime minister’s office, line ministries, academia/universities, private sector (biggest telecommunication company in Albania (Telecom)), civil society organizations, UNDP, UNHCR and other UNCT members to create inclusive and participatory processes for the implementation, monitoring and reviewing of SDG 16.1 and SDG 16.2, specifically related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and sexual violence.
Goal: Improve data methodology and quality, and create a better environment for coordination and cooperation between stakeholders.
The research and dialogues – funded by the Alliance – strengthened the evidence-base for initiatives to address SGBV.
Stakeholders participated in processes which identified relevant reporting and monitoring mechanisms for SDG 16.1 and SDG 16.2, creating a baseline report which measured the success of these efforts and provided the data that created effective evidence-based recommendations.
The report presented a direct analysis of the data in existence on these indicators and provided recommendations regarding efforts of the Government and other stakeholders in order to make further progress in monitoring SDG 16.1 and SDG 16.2 indicators, c.
